September 2004, the FAA introduced the new Sport Pilot License category and the new Light Sport License classification of airplanes. The Sport Pilot license and training requires only a valid driver’s license as proof of medical fitness to fly, and pilot training time can be as little as 20 hours. Ground training is done through the Gleim Sport Pilot self study system, with certified ground instructors available to assist whenever the need arises. Everything you need to become a Sport Pilot is immediately available to you.
